Finding out when the next bus or LRT is scheduled to arrive just got a whole lot easier.

And it is free.

On Friday ETS unveiled a new pilot program. Through the use of a mobile phone, riders will gain access to bus schedule information by sending a text message to 31100, and almost instantly will get a return text with the requested information.

Text Messaging Fraud

Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott today charged 24 defendants - including Jason Hope, the chief executive officer of Arizona-based Eye Level Holdings - with perpetuating a text messaging scheme that led to millions of dollars in unauthorized mobile phone charges.

According to state investigators, the defendants used illicit websites to bait mobile phone customers into submitting their wireless numbers online.

T-Mobile Outage

Wireless provider T-Mobile USA Inc. says it has cleared up service problems that were interfering with calls and text messaging for about 5 percent of its customers.

The company posted a message in its online customer forum saying service was restored by late Tuesday after problems had popped up around 5:30 p.m. EST.

T-Mobile says the outages appeared in several regions. Subscribers from Atlanta to Los Angeles complained on Internet message boards.
