US Supreme Court Hearing Sexting Case

The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday will hear the case of whether employees text messages sent by an employer-owned device are considered private.

The case specifically will examine whether a California police department violated the constitutional rights of an employee when it inspected personal text messages sent and received by a pager owned by the city of Ontario, Calif.

One Forth of Teens Text While Driving

One-fourth of US teenagers aged 16 and 17 have sent text messages while driving and over 40 percent have had a cellphone conversation while behind the wheel, according to a study published on Monday.

Twenty-six percent of teenagers aged 16 and 17 have texted while driving, according to the survey by the Pew Internet and American Life Project -- about the same rate as found in separate studies conducted among adults.

The survey found boys and girls were equally likely to text while driving.

Mobile Compatibility

The worlds largest mobile phone carriers say they are joining forces to make it easier for software developers to write apps that will run on as many phones as possible.

The Wholesale Applications Community announced Monday at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona is an attempt to retake the initiative from phone makers like Apple and Nokia, which have applications stores of their own.
