World Hosting Days Asia - Day 1

By David Snead

The team at Intergenia has put together the first ever "World Hosting Days Asia" this week in Bangkok. The event has certainly exceeded the modest expectations of the organizers. In Rust, I was told that the Intergenia expected no more than 100 attendees. Based on only the scanned badges on Thursday, over 500 people are here, spilling out of ballrooms and conference rooms into the lobby of the host hotel.

Aside from a handful of attendees I recognize from other hosting events, this appears to be a whole new crowd. Thomas Strohe told me that over 80% of the attendees come from the Asia Pacific region or India. A big change from either World Hosting Days or HostingCon. While the structure of the program remains virtually unchanged from the World Hosting Days program this March, many of the presenters have tailored their talks to specifically address needs of Asian hosts.
